So, Lord Muruga locked Lord Brahma in cell ans Lord muruga took the clord Shiva the father of Lord Muruga got angry and he asked Lord Muruga to release Lord Brahma. For the Question of Lord shiva to Lord Muruga, he said, Lord Brahma is not eligible to do the creating word as he doesn't know the meaning of the vedas. Then Lord Shiva asked Lord Muruga to tell the meaning of Om.

The Condition said by Lord Muruga to Lord Shiva to know the meaning of Om is to ask the meaning of the word Om giving the respect to Lord Muruga as if giving respect to a mentor. So, Lord Shiva respected Lord shiva as a mentor and knew the meaning of the word Om.
