Bharathiraja in his Young days

Bharathiraja got a job in Public Health Department as a sanitary inspector in the year of 1963. His Monthly salary was Rs 75. He wrote, directed and Acted in many dramas in Pazhani Chettiyapatti of Theni during festive sessions. Oor Sirikkirathu, Summa Oru Kadhai and Adhigaaram are some of his earlier dramas. Later Bharathiraja joined as assistant to Puttanna Kanagal in the year of 1967. After that he worked as an assistant to Krishnan Nair, Avinasi Mani and A Jaganathan. Bharathiraja got his first directorial chance in the year of 1977.

Film Carrier of Bharathiraja

Bharathiraja's debut film is 16 Vayathinile. This movie became huge hit and changes the trend of Tamil Cinema. Village kind of movies has come after this movie only. 16 Vayathinile broke all the rules of Tamil Cinema. This is the first movie which came for out of studio for shooting. Second film of Bharathiraja is Kizhakke Pogum Rail. This movie also did excellent in box office. Till now Bharathiraja directed nearly 50 movies. Most of his films are village oriented subjects.
