Karthik is one of the leading Tamil singers of the present time. Karthik is a playback singer. Karthik has begun his professional career as a back vocalist. Nevertheless, soon he became one of the most promising singers in the Tamil industry. Karthik has sung in other South Indian languages as well. From his school days, Tamil Singer Karthik was a devoted student of the Carnatic music. Later, Karthik sang in his college band. Karthik also rocked in 'Sarang', the College Fest of IIT Madras.

Career of Tamil Singer Karthik
Working for a year as the back vocalist, Karthik got his break while the Hindi film One Two ka Four was being re-recorded. There in one of the scenes the music director Rehman needed an "Alaap" in a high pitch. Karthik did that with some other singers. Rahman was impressed with Karthik's good voice. Rahman asked him to stay back as he wanted Karthik to do some more recording. Karthik did not waste that chance. Karthik performed whole heartedly. Impressing Rahman, he got a chance in the film Star.
Karthik has a good voice. Along with that, Singer Karthik has got some versatility, be it the poppish song 'Enakoru girlfriend' or the emotion riddled 'Anjalai'.
With a number of solo performances, along with the fims, Karthik has been really moving South India these days. He has been singing in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. Karthik is recently looking forward to broaden his vistas by entering the world of the fusion music. We can assume that the fusion music of Karthik is going to gain equal popularity as well.
Karthik has worked under many popular music directors, like A. R. Rahman, Ilayaraaja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, M. J. Meyer and H. Jeyaraj. Karthik has been surprising in the Tamil industry. His song in the Tamil Movie Boys, Ennaku Oru Girlfriend, was a huge success; so was his Oru Maalai from the 2005 film Ghajini.
