Priyamani's debut film is Kangalal Kaidu Sei (Tamil film) which directed by well known director Bharathiraja and released in the year of 2004. Priyamani's Telugu debut film is Evare Atagaadu and her Malayam debut film is Satyam opposite to Prithviraj. All the above three films didn't do well in box office.

In the year of 2005, She acted in Adhu Oru Kana Kalam opposite to Dhanush, directed by Balu Mahendra. This film also didn't do well in box office but she got good appreciation for her acting.

In the year of 2006, she acted a Telugu film Pellaina Kothalo opposite to Jagapathi babu. This film did well commercially. Priyamani got success in her fifth film only.

Paruthiveeran was released in the year of 2007 with Karthi and Priyamani in lead roles and directed by Ammer. This film became a block buster. Priyamani got very comments about her acting skill. Priyamani won many awards for this film.

After Paruthiveeran she acted Malaikottai in Tamil opposite to Vishal and Yamadonga in Telugu opposite to Jr.NTR. Both of this film did moderately well in box office.
