A shocking discovery of how many government hospitals are "retail outlets of new born babies".

About 18 months ago, geeta (name changed ) aged 39, who was told by the doctors that she can't deliver a baby. But today she is enjoying her life with her 11-months old baby boy. This baby has become the sole reason for her existence today. But how can this happen with a women who has been considered unfit to deliver a baby? Thinking positively ,modern medical techniques could have helped her or this can be a case of legal adoption too. But the reality is shocking. Geeta told a leading newspaper that she purchased the baby from the kilpauk medical college administrator by paying a huge amount.

This is the shocking state prevailing in many government hospitals in Tamilnadu. It has been found that a large network of child trafficking gang is currently working for this .

The Network for kidnapping babies !!

Through investigations, it has been discovered that every locality has its own group of child kidnappers, who with the help of hospital administrators or employees gain information on the new born babies in the hospitals. Thus with their help, these kidnappers, steal the baby from the hospitals and then sell it to childless couples at unimaginable costs. Nearly 70% of all deliveries take place in government hospitals and most babies that are trafficked are from these hospitals. These kidnappers or agents try to befriend pregnant women and finally end up kidnapping their child.

How does this child kidnapping happen

    • Poor security in hospitals

    • No proper visiting hours

    • Widespread campus , big enough to leave incidents unnoticed

    • Corrupt Grade staff demanding money for every work they do

These kidnappers then hand over baby to mediators , who inturn hand over to the couples. For this process fake documents are also produced. Such child kidnappings are mostly found in areas of krishnagiri of Tamilnadu and vellore districts of Tamilnadu. Finally the babies are sold in big cites of Tamilnadu like Chennai.

The cost of a baby in Tamilnadu ranges from Rs.10,000 to Rs. 1.5 lakhs

    .

    Why does child kidnapping happens

In few cases its clear kidnapping immediately after delivery. In other cases poor parents themselves sell the baby in Tamilnadu for a good amount of money.

Sample incidents for child kidnapping in Tamilnadu

    • 3 months old baby boy stolen from Krishnagiri Government hospital Tamilnadu

    • 2.5 year old boy stolen from Tirupattur Government hospital Tamilnadu, sold in Krishnagiri

    • 1.5 year old boy stolen from Tirupattur Government hospital Tamilnadu, sold in Bangalore

In Many of such allegedly reported cases , the babies have been rescued and given back to their Biological parents. Thanks to Tamilnadu police for their efforts.

Hospitals have now imposed strict rules on visitors and also arranged CCTV cameras to keep monitoring the activities of the hospitals. Special gaurds have been appointed for this, to uproot such mishappenings.

    But….

    • Where are all our values?

    • Where has our Humanity vanished ?

    • Why has money taken control over mind?

All these questions have to be thought about and answered by each and everyone who is involved in such an inaction.

Man is a social animal. Everyone has moral responsibility towards this society. Today we have hundreds and hundreds of children who are parentless, orphaned and grow up uncared in orphanages and even streets. A Childless couple could as well adopt a child from such places, which can really the change the life of such children instead of indulging in such malpractices which affects the Peace and Harmony.
