Madurai Meenakshi Temple

Madurai Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal
This Thirumalai nayakar mahal Palace was built in the year of 1636. It is under the control of Tamil Nadu Archaeological Department and it is a National monument. One fourth of the original palace is available today. The ceiling of this palace are decorated with beautiful paitings showing Shaivite and Vaishnavite themes. There are 248 pillars and each pillar has 58feet tall and 5 meter diameter.
Thiruparankundram is 7KM away from Madurai city. Thiruparankundram is one of the Murugan's Arupadai Veedu.
Periya pallivasal, Gandhi Museum, Goripalayam Dargah, Theppakulam, Azhakar Kovil are some of the major tourist spots in Madurai City.
Chittirai festival starts on 5th day of bright half of the month Chittirai. Eighth, Nineth and tenth day of festival is having more significant.
During this festival, Kallazhakar from Azhakar koil makes a visit to Vandiyur which is near to Vaigai river
