The Government botanical garden in Ooty has been maintained by the Horticulture department of Tamilnadu. Total area of Ooty botanical garden is 22 hectares. Species in Oot botanical garden are 650 varieties. A 20 million years old tree is in the botanical garden. Ooty botanical garden is famous for its long walking path and the same has been attracting many tourists to Ooty from all around the world.
During the summer season of Tamilnadu. the Summer festival will be celebrated in Ooty. The contents of the Summer festival will be cultural programs and some other programs exposing the Tamil culture with the talented participants.

Ooty Lake

The Ooty lake was established at 1825. The length of Ooty lake is about 2.5 km. Boating on Ooty lake will give wonderful experience to the visitors to Ooty. The Ooty lake has been maintained by private agents and the visitors will have to spend some money to get the experience from the Ooty lake.

Dodabetta Peak

Kodanadu of Ooty is 16kms away from the picnic spot Kotagiri. Moyar river is very near to the Kodanadu near Ooty.

Madumalai Wildlife Sanctuary

Even though Ooty is one of the special places to visit during summer, some festivals like, Tea and tourism festival, Makar pongal and flower show with Kurinchi flower that flourishes once in 12 years will be celebrated during January. So, the best time to visit Ooty is January.
