Tamilnadu Engineering admissions 2010-Eligibility

The recent announcement from the Education deparment of Tamiladu has declared that the minimum eligiblity for joining in the Tamilnadu Engineering colleges is reduced 5% for all category students.

The higher education's minister Mr.Ponmudi said to the press reporters yesterday (19/5/2010) that, he was asked by the MLA's , private engineering college directors to reduce the eligibility to join in the Engineering colleges of Tamilnadu as all the plus two passed students can join in the Engineering studies as in the other states of India.

As per their suggestions, it has been decided to reduce the eligibility to join in the Engineering colleges as follows after consulting with the Tamilnadu Chief Minister Mr.Karuna nidhi.

Cost Minimum marks (%)

O.C Reduced from 55 to 50
B.C Reduced from 50 to 45
M.B.C Reduced from 45 to 40
S.C reduced from 40 to 35

This action from the Tamilnadu government will make the number of students joining in the Engineering studies. The same will make all the Engineering seats of all Tamilnadu colleges to be filled this year and also, the desires of the students also will be satisfied from these kinds of announcements.

Engineering applications:

In this situation, the application form for the Engineering admissions has been sold in all the centers of Tamilnadu. 184000 application forms have been sold till day before yesterday progresses.

Offers from the TN govt:

Following are the other attractive announcements from the Tamilnadu govt to increase the number of educated people in Tamilnadu.

1. All the expenses for the Engineering education for the students who are selecting (Government) colleges in the Engineering counseling they are from the family where no graduates before them. (Hence the future generation will have more educated people in Tamilnadu). The tuition fees for the students from the illiterate family only will be paid by the Government.
2. The eligibility for joining in the Engineering courses is reduced.

Mr. Ponmudi added that there is no need for extending the last date for applying the Engineering counseling as there is enough time for the students to apply for it.

The last date to send the filled Engineering application form is, 31/05/2010
