Rajabaksha arrival to Tamilnadu
A delegation of 21 MPs from Tamil Nadu led by T.R. Baalu failed to secure concrete assurances on political settlement.They were in the new delhi for the meeting with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Wednesday.
MPs failed to make any strong political settlement regarding
i. Release of Prisoners of War ii. Resettlement of Tamils
After the meeting while talking with media Mr. T.R. Balu said that there was some progress, but added he was not satisfied with the output of the meeting.
The Sri Lankan delegation headed by Mr. Rajapaksa and the Indian delegation led by Dr. Manmohan Singh.They have signed various 7 agreements regarding various issues of india and sri lanka.
This meeting had black background of tamil fisherman being harassed by sri lankan navy.They were hospitalized after being beaten by sri lankan navy.Their cloths stripped off,they were forced to eat raw fish and salt.This incident took place on Tuesday off Kachchatheevu in Palk Strait.
