Erode is also known as Thanthai Periyar district and Textile City. Mathematician Ramanujan and Social Reformer Periyar was born in Erode. The famous rivers such as Bhavani, Kaveri, Noyyal, Amaravathi rivers are passing across the Erode district. Bannari Amman temple, Kodumudi Temple, Chennimalai Temple and Dharapuram Sivan temple are familar in Erode District.
