    Vinayaka chaturthi Festival pooja

Water Pollution caused due to immersion of Ganesha idols in lakes, rivers and the sea cause water pollution.

Ganesha idols are made up Plaster of Paris (calcium sulfate hemi-hydrate) In addition, chemical paints are used to color the idols, and these paints are made up of metals such as mercury and lead, which mixed into the water as the idol dissolves and cause death of water animals. Is it necessary to buy Plaster of Paris , coloured Ganesha idols to celebrate vinayaka chaturthi featival pooja. Think it over.

Ganesha idols made up of ordinary clay are always better n to celebrate Ganesha chaturthi.

    Hi Kavitha

You are right. There is a tradition followed that after the festival was over they will dissolve the idol in sea water. In order to minimize water contamination people have to think and Government have to put some restrictions upon this, otherwise in due course lot of natural disasters will occur.

    Hi,

Vinayaka chaturthi pooja is done all over the city and you can imagine how many idols will be created all over Tamilnadu. If all the idols are brought for the immersion then there will be a serious problem for sure. You are right in your aspect. This problem may get critical in the future years for sure.

The government is taking many steps in many criteria but the steps should also be taken in this particular criteria also. The people only should take some initiative keeping the importance of the nature in mind.

    Thanks & Regards
