SC - Scheduled Castes
ST - Scheduled Tribe
BC - Backward Classes
MBC - Most Backward Classes
OC - Other Classes/ Open Competition
SCA - Scheduled Castes (Arundhadhiyaar)
BCM - BC (Muslim)
How many more are yet to come?
When will they say all are equal and all gets equal?
Its in hands of youngsters to decide on what has to happen in the future!
A Student, who belongs to OC, scores 98 in an entrance test and gets a top university admission.
Another Student, who belongs to BC or SC or MBC scores gets admission in the same top university with a score 45.
This is where, our education system and caste reservation lies.
First common comment on a student who seeks admission and belongs to OC is "Your career is doomed."
All colleges offer 60 seats for every course they offer.
Allocation of seats are as follows
* Open Competition - 31.00%
* Backward Class (Muslims) - 3.50%
* Backward Class - 26.50%
* Most Backward Class and Denotified Communities - 20.00%
* Scheduled Caste (Arundhadhiyaar) - 3.00%
* Scheduled Caste - 15.00%
* Scheduled Tribe - 1.00%
It looks like OC gets more seats. Well, its not what it looks like.
There is eligibility rule stating that "SC/ ST/ SCA/ MBC & DNC/ BC/ BCM candidates are eligible for selection under Open Competition (OC) in addition to the reservations made for them."
Let me ask a question with different perspective!
Now that, every one in Tamil Nadu is educated 100%. Will the reservation of admission upon castes be equalized?
