After discovering new stories can't be believed, ilayathalapathy Vijay is becoming the king of only remakes. Vijay will play the role of Rancho in the Tamil remake of Rajkumar Hirani directed 3 Idiots. Compared to Ajith, Vikram and Surya, Vijay looks cool and young to play the role of Phunsukh Wangdu (Aamir Khan) in Tamil.

Hello Sujatha Madam!
Considering and respecting the abilities of Mr. Vijay, nay of all the actors all over the world, I think that no role can be properly replaced. There can be a remake, but that will never be as attractive and popular as the original one. Nevertheless, this is only my personal opinion and members may easily vary from this perspective.
Nevertheless, thanks for coming up with such a nice forum thread, dealing with such an interesting topic.

3 Idiots in Tamil!
That sounds great. But, that would be the biggest blunder in Tamil Film Industry.
No one can replace the lengendry characters of Aamir Khan (Rancho/ Phunsukh Wangudu) or Madhavan (Farhan) or Sarman Joshi (Raju) or Omi (Chathur).
They were perfect and apt for the roles.
In Tamil Film Industry, its difficult to find actors suitable for these roles.
May be youngsters like Simbu, Arya, Bharath, Jeeva, Vivek can try their best.
Even then, Its not possible to achieve success like the original one.

As per recent news, Shankar is going to direct the remake version of 3 idiots in Tamil and Telugu.
Shankar's choice in Tamil is Vijay, Madhavan and Simbhu
