Tea and Tourism Festival from February 18 at Ooty
Tea and Tourism Festival from February 18 at UDHAGAMANDALAM.A Tea and Tourism Festival scheduled to be held in December and later podtponed to January will now kick off the season realated activities this year.The goverment has now decided to organise it on February 18,19 and 20.
Disclosing this to presspersons here on Monday,the Nilgiris collector,Archana Patnaik,said that the festival will be inaugrated by Tourism Minister S.Gokula Indira,in the presence of the principle Secretary,Culture and Tourism,V.K.Jayakodi.
It will be preceded by a procession of floats including those of the United Planters Association of Southern India,the Tea Board plantation Corporation(TANTEA).The procession will be utilised to enhance awareness about various unique features and also educate the people about the risks involved in driving on the ghat roads.
Venue of Festivel
Stating that the venue of the festival would be the Breeks Open Air Stadium.
