Yes, Mr. Balasubramanian!
I agree with you that the Tanjavur Big Temple should be considered one of the Wonders of the World. Unfortunately, I have never come across an opprtunity to visit that wonder in person but I have a fascination for Indian temples and have googled about it as well. It is a pity that the Wonders of the World are still Eurocentric and we accept them in a colonial trauma and with a subjugated psyche, yet to be decolonised even after so many decades after the independence. We must raise our voices in unison, just like your initiative, so that the Wonders of India may actually find a place in the list of Wonders of the World.
Thanks anyway for coming up with this wonderful poll and forum discussion.

The temple is full of miseries. I have collected many information ablut that temple. There are many underground passages from that temple to other temples in the Tamil nadu. The underground passages go from that temple to one temple which is across 5 different rivers known as the Pancha nadhi. So this temple should definitely come under the wonders of the world. The architect of the temple is excellent such that the temple serves to be the best place for the tourists. There are also many un revealed part of the information in that temple. Our ansistors have made many thing as un revealed secret.
And moreover the builder of the temple Raja Raja chozan is an excellent architect. His famous work is revealed in that. He used single rocks which weighs more than 80 tons. It is still a miracle on how he placed that 80 ton rock at the top of the gopuram. Everything seems to be a very big miracle when we see the architect of the temple. There are some more hidden secrets about that temples. The temple was highly protected with the security is some basis. Because the Tanjavur was the head quarters of the dynasty of the Raja Raja chozan. My grand father has told me many more things about the temple. It is immense pleasure in thinking and speaking about that temple.

Hello Mr. Balasubramanian!
Pardon my ignorance, I am totally illiterate when it comes to the Tamil language. Would you answer one or two of my questions regarding this?
We generally say 'Tamil', don't we? But you are writing it as 'Tamizh'. Also, we read about Raja Raja Chola in our history books but here I find you have written it as Chozan. Is 'L' in Tamil pronounced as 'ZH' or 'Z'?
Also, I have tried my hands in writing a few resources on Tamil Nadu; if you can spare time, will you just take a look at them to find if I have made any serious mistake?

Yes the temple must be accorded wonders of the world for follwing reasons..
The Brihadisvara Temple at Thanjavur became the first great example of the Chola temples, followed by a development of which the other two properties also bear witness.
The three Great Chola Temples are an exceptional and the most outstanding testimony to the development of the architecture of the Chola Empire and the Tamil civilisation in Southern India.
The Great Chola temples at Thanjavur, at Gangaikondacholapuram and Darasuram are outstanding examples of the architecture and the representation of the Chola ideology.

Hi Kumaraditya,
I have used Tamizh instead of tamil because we tamil people pronounce the word tamil in Tamizh only. The English people for their convenience have made it tamil. The beauty of our tamil language is the "zh". This is the reason why i have used Tamizh instead of tamil. The beauty of tamizh is getting lost day by day. In our tamil language there are many things that are deep pure. There is also pure tamizh. There are also scripts to prove that our tamil language is the base for other languages. The tamizh language was originated first from the Sanskrit language and that also we call Samskritam. There are also scripts to prove that the Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu language originated from the Tamizh language and It is so called Sanga Tamizh.
And the words that are used on Malayalam telugu and kannada are mostly pure tamizh words. But due to the interference of the Urudhu and Other external language those languages look different to that of the Tamil language. There are lot more things about the tamizh language. It will be more and more interesting to know about the tamizh language and the tamizh culture. India is the only country that is rich in culture and even though there are worst foreign invations the purity of the indian culture is not lost yet.

Hi,
I'm very happy to tell that i'm planning for a tour to the great temple tomorrow. I'm planning for a south tour where i'm going to cover many temples that are in the south side. And moreover i've planned to see the palace of the Raja Raja Chozhan. I heard that there is a sword of the Raja Rajan which cannot be lifted by a single person. The sword is heavy enough that it is very much necessary that there should be 5 persons enough to handle it in the hand comfortably. But the great Raja Rajan has taken it to battle and he has used it in a single hand and rotated it long enough. I still wonder how it could be possible. I've planned to go to that Tanjavur and see that sword.
The kings and people in those days have been more powerful but we people now are very weak physically. It is always great to know about that old kings. If they dont possess these characteristics then they cannot be great kings of our country and ruled the country and protected the people. The gods would have blessed them enough to be very powerful. I always used to wonder if our country had not been a democratic country and if it had been ruled by a king like Raja Raja Chozan. I'm one of his biggest fan.

Hello Mr. Balasubramanian!
Why do not write a resource about that sword, having finished your visit to the temple, so that all of us may come to know about it in details through your resource?
Yes, I agree with you in the point that peoples of the bygone days were much more stronger in their physique than us. You are talking of Raja Raja Chozhan, well, the Chola dynasty is much ancient; even if we come to the eighteenth century we will wonder at the physical strength of the people.
Take a look at my profile picture, can you see a palace behind it? Well, this is the Hazarduari Palace of the later Nawabs of Murshidabad, West Bengal, which is now a museum. Here, the sword which Nawab Siraj-ud-doula had used in the Battle of Plassey (1757) against the British Force of the English East India Company is kept. I wondered at its height and width, it is almost quarter to five feet long! Just think that this measure of quarter to five feet was only waist high for Nawab Siraj, and he too used this in the battlefield with ease! Leave his soul, you will even wonder at his drinking mug, made of silver; I would have preferred not to drink at all to lifting that heavy weight!

Hi,
Yes definitely i will post a resource on the information that i collect from that temple and the information about that sword. I still cant believe that it is necessary that 5 persons are needed to carry that sword. I will only believe it when i see it and try to lift it. We cant just go to conclusions on what people tell right. Let me go there and have a look at that sword and provide you more information about that. There were actually kings who had been wise enough to implement great technologies to protect their kingdom from the opponents.
