    Hi Friends

This thread is to discuss on the tamil names and its meaning.

Which is your favourite name and what is the meaning of it, have you come accross any tamil names which are hard to pronounce?

Is it important to keep Tamil names to kids to show how much we like Tamil though they are old fashioned?

What is your views on it?

Names in tamil have their own specialities. Surya narayana sastri, a great tamil scholar called himself as Paridhi Maal Kalaignar. Paridhi is Sun or Surya. Maal is thirumaal - Narayana and Sastri is a scholar - Kalaignar. Likewise, several tamil names sound sweet. Pronunciation of certain names are difficult. But, this is the case with every language. In the recent IPL matches, we had few names like Ten Doschate...Van Der Merwe.....commentator Pumelelo Mbangwa.....etc. If you practice these tamil names will like it. Try converting these names in Tamil....Jayalalitha, Karunanidhi, Ramadas will be astonished when you try it. For example, Jayalalitha is i right.

    Hai Kiran

This is a nice topic, Generally we can know the language, religion and nationality on hearing a name. Names in Tamil Language are always unique, sweet, and with good meaning.

But in the middle slowly other language names started entering in to Tamil, but this may be due to the cultural hybridization and migration of Tamil families to other state or nation.
    Wherever we, we are Tamilians!

    Be Happy!
