We can't say that MS Dhoni is a better captain than Sourav Ganguly or Kapil Dev. This is because every captain has done certain jobs during their captaincy.
Regarding Kapil Dev, When India started for the 1983 World cup, no one would have believed that India will win that cup. But Kapil Dev with his great captaincy prepared the team very well. He gave confidence to all the players till the end.
We all know that after Kapil Dev, it is Sourav Ganguly who took India to the final of the world cup for the second time. But unfortunately he could not make it.
Now MS Dhoni has come. He also done many things. Notable one is India got the No:1 position in ICC test rankings. So, we can't tell who is better.
Practice makes perfect..
Dhoni is very cool person and don't compare with Kapil Dev or Ganguly.
Kapil and Ganguly put their best for Indian Cricket. Hence it is not possible to say who is best. Dhoni has to do more for Indian Cricket as per my opnion. The present Indian Cricket Coach has done good work.
- #3425Dear Friends,
All our Indian captains till date performed their roll well. The former captain Kapil Dev performed well in all aspects and won many matches and Wold Cup in 1983. The present Captain M.S.Dhoni is also performing well in all aspects. He is a very good leader and takes the Indian cricket name to the best level.
We hope about our Team players and they definitely will win the Cricket Wold Cup 2011 under the captain ship of M.S. Dhoni. So, This not the correct time to discuss about who is the best captain?. As an Indian, We are all pray the god for the victory of India in the world cup 2011.
- #4599The best ever captain in Indian Cricket history is SAURAV GANGULY.I know that every one says that M.S.Dhoni has got a cool captainship. The question is not the coolest captain but the best captain and i would like to point out some forgotten mysteries about Ganguly to the youth
2.passionate in victory
3.the present cricket team is formed under Ganguly
mere unlucky made him to drop from indian cricket team
History is littered with examples of abysmal leaders: Edward II and Henry VI were catastrophically bad English Kings, Gordon Brown a dismal Prime Minister, and in cricket Ian Botham was a particularly poor England captain.
MS Dhoni is an entirely different case. Put simply, the Indian captain is a born leader.
Many thought him a brash and unlikely captain when he replaced Anil Kumble as skipper across all formats, but they have been proved comprehensively wrong.
Leadership has matured Dhoni. His own performances have been generally of a high standard, and the positive impact he has had on his troops is obvious. For one, India have developed a resilience that was hitherto non-existent.
He had already captained India to the inaugural World T20 crown in South Africa in 2007 and since then led them to the number one ranking in Test cricket; he even captained Chennai Super Kings to the IPL crown in 2010.
But have no doubt, trying to lead India to the World Cup in their own country was his biggest task yet.
Every move, word or action he has made over the last six weeks has been scrutinised by a critical Indian press and one billion fervent supporters.
Promoting himself above Yuvraj Singh in the batting order in yesterday's final was an extremely bold move. The game was in the balance and Yuvraj had been the Player of the Tournament - already winning four man of the match awards. Dhoni's own form with the bat had been scratchy.
But good leaders take responsibility. And that is exactly what Dhoni did. He played himself in and then launched into his trademark flamboyant strokeplay. In the end, it was fairly routine for India and the six that finished the game was clearly a tremendous release for Dhoni.
Bruce Springsteen was born to run, Dhoni is emphatically born to lead.
- #4641HI guys
First of all MS Dhoni is a lucky guy. He got many cups as soon as he got captaincy for India. Finally he got world cup for India which is unbelievable. He now got team with well standing youth players like Kholi and Raina. Dhoni is a cool captain decides each and every moment clearly. His support and morale also helped India to win cups. I feel Dhoni is best cup of 20th century international cricket. We can't say kapil dev or Saurav Ganguly as a bad captain. Think the condition of Indian team at that time. They got many cups even with poor Indian team by their captaincy.
