The name of the palace is made on the name of the ruler called Nayakkar ruled over Thirumalai.This palace is located nearby Madurai.This palace is admirable for its light and sound show taking place at regular intervals everyday.This palace has great marvelous pillars in it.These are milkish white in colour and an additional fact is that these will have musical output when it is patted with our hands.But nowadays this action on pillars is strictly restricted as it may degrade its beauty.The evening sight on this palace at moonlight is very admirable.Another fact is that there is an underground way to Meenakshi Amman Temple form here.
