HI, Yes I know something about Pichavaram. It is the only source of Mangrove forests in the deltaic region of Tamilnadu. It has spreadput in 5600 hectares of damp, swampy land covered with thick Mangrove vegetation and serves as a good tourist spot in Tamilnadu. Pichavaram invites the tourists of nearby tourist places such as Nagapattinam , Chidambabram, Kumbakonam etc. Its also a wildlife sanctuary for the many hibernating birds. Pichavaram hence contributes to the tourism industry of Tamilnadu

Hi, Pitchavaram is located nearer to chidambaram. It is a big lake reservoir with mangrove trees and it is a jungle. So many foreigners are interested to visit these areas and stay there for some days.
Boating facility is available and is safe to travel with a guide to get scenaries. The reservoir is connected to sea but travellers are restricted to go there.
It is preserved by Tamilnadu forest Department. Many films are shooted in this area to give good reflection of forests
