Alagappa Chettair College of Engineering and Technology is located in Karaikudi. Founder of this College is Dr.Alagappa Chettiar. This College was handed over to Tamil Nadu Government in the year of 1966.
This college has been granted 'Autonomous' status in the year of 2009-10. This college also recognized as research centre.This college was selected as the Best Engineering College in Tamil Nadu in the year of 2007
