Tuticorin has been one of the biggest pearl harvesting cities of India and the same city has easy access for the sea transports too. So, this city was announced as the Minor anchorage port at 1868. The structure of the port trust of Tuticorin was started and run with wooden platforms in the beginning.

These two water breakers are separated by 1275 Meters of land.
