Weekend Getaway from the City
You are bound to get a relaxed holiday at Yelagiri, as you will have only calm surroundings and no mobile network around you, Yelagiri has a pleasant climate through out the year and is located in the Swami Malai hills.
Trekking at Yelagiri Hills
Yelagiri is ideal for trekkers. Yelagiri hills have for small treks and smaller peaks such as Palamathi Hills and Javadu Hills make for excellent trekking options. While on a trek you should not miss visiting Jalagamparai Falls. Honey and Jackfruit are the items well known in Yela giri. You can pick them up from the tribals. You can see some quaint temples, tribal dwellings which are located in the numerous villages, still drenched in their archaic atmosphere.
Facilities at Punganur lake
The Punganur Lake is a huge manmade lake in Yelagiri. Boating facilities are available in the lake and there is a floriculture garden alongside. There is a 6 acre-park adjacent to the lake which houses a small zoo as well as a play area for children.
